Our work has brought us to many old buildings, often with listed status, which has meant we’ve had to find solutions that works on every level without ever compromising their historic structure.
Finding solutions for the impossible
With this type of project, we are often contracted by the appointed caterer as, having worked with many of them before, they are confident in our professionalism and integrity. Invariably, our design skills are tested when we’re presented with ancient timbers and impenetrable stone walls. However, we’ve always found solutions to ensure that the desired menus can be produced, that dishes and glasses can be washed and that fumes can be extracted.
Liaising with architects and designers
Working within buildings that were never designed for modern cooking requires input at all levels so we often work closely with architects and designers. Our vast knowledge of commercial kitchen health and safety legislation, combined with 40+ years’ experience of designing kitchens, means that we can identify and solve potential problems long before building work commences, saving a great deal of time, money and stress.
Some of the historic properties we’ve worked with include:
Victorian Bath House
Wilton’s Music Hall
London Palladium
Cabinet War Rooms
Theatre Royal, Drury Lane
Crosby Hall
Fulham Palace
Middle Temple
10 Downing Street
